Comparative Perspectives on University Leadership and Administration, September, 6th -7th, 2010, organized by Prof. Dr. Georg Krücken, Albrecht Blümel, Katharina Kloke
Similar to broader developments within the non-profit and public sector over the last two decades higher education organizations have been subject to profound organizational transformations. Despite very different culturally embedded models and national pathdependencies there is a general trend towards a more “managerial regime” of university governance and institutional self-management. While there has been broad interest in subsequent institutional responses of universities and implications regarding research activities, changes of university leadership and administration have received less attention in theoretical and empirical research so far.
The workshop aims at bringing together scholars and contributions to higher education management from a variety of disciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives and from very different countries.
