New Institutionalism
20th Workshop Salzburg 2025
Second Reminder: Call for Papers: 9th Workshop New Institutionalism Warsaw 2013

For its 9th Workshop, the new institutionalism network is moving east – to Warsaw, the capital city of Poland.

Important dates: November 15, 2012 deadline for submissions; March 14-15, 2013 9th workshop.

The debates will be inspired by, among other things, a keynote delivered by Professor Barbara Czarniawska, from the University of Gothenburg. The workshop is going to be hosted by the University of Warsaw, the largest and finest Polish university. The workshop aims at bringing together kindred spirits from different disciplines, countries, and academic systems who share interest in pushing forward the frontiers of research on institutions.

The workshop does not have a specific focus. Further, it is not about presenting completed papers that have already been published or submitted to major international journals. It is an open forum, a space for meeting and conversation, and for coining bold new research ideas. The participants are therefore expected to be present throughout the workshop, and actively contribute to the discussions.

We welcome work that brings forward novel topics, employs innovative methods, and/or advances fresh perspectives of inquiry; approaches that drift away from present mainstream themes takes on research about institutions. We are especially keen to hear voices of authors who do not belong to the standard list of institutional theory references and/or draw on literature that is not available in English. Also, in line with the new institutionalism network's spirit, the workshop encourages collaboration, particularly among scholars drawing on or bridging different disciplines.

We are looking forward to receiving submissions reporting well-advanced research as well as work in progress by experienced academics, young scholars and PhD students, and to fruitful discussions during the workshop.

Submissions (length of extended abstracts between 2000 and 4000 words) should be sent to no later than November 15, 2012. More details about the workshop can be found at www.newinstitutionalism.org.
